Brazilian health regulator allows resumption of Sinovac’s vaccine trial

Brazil’s health regulator Anvisa announced on Wednesday the resumption of clinical Phase III trials for China’s Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine, reported Reuters.

Anvisa on Monday suspended trials of the vaccine after the death of a volunteer registered as a suicide. According to Poder360, Brazilian Butantan Institute, the organizer of the trial, said it sent Anvisa all the information on the ‘severe adverse case’ on November 6, including the conclusion that the death was unrelated to the vaccine, but the agency claims it did not receive the data due to a hacker attack on the Ministry of Health network.
