President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil tested positive for COVID-19. Last night, he said he was developing symptoms of the disease and this Tuesday the test’s result has confirmed the infection.

At the beginning of the pandemic, Bolsonaro was a vocal skeptic of the virus, saying it wasn’t more than “a flu”. The Brazilian president is also against the isolation measures as a way to prevent the disease from spread. Since yesterday, he has been taking Hydroxychloroquine and his agenda for the rest of the week has been canceled.

After contact with Bolsonaro, Brazilian ministers are taking COVID-19 tests, according to CNN. Bolsonaro also met with the United States Ambassador, Todd Chapman, over the weekend, during the July 4th celebration.
