This Monday, Chile overtook Italy and Spain in the number of COVID-19 infections, after 4,608 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 246,963, according to Clarín.
Chile, with 18 million inhabitants, is the seventh country with the most infections in the world, behind the United States, Brazil, Russia, India, the United Kingdom and Peru, and one of the most affected per million inhabitants. However, Chile is also the one of the who tests more, according to John Hopkins University.
In the last 24 hours, 23 new deaths were also registered, and the total number of deaths with a positive test reached 4,502, to which must be added 3,069 deaths attributable to COVID-19 who don’t have confirmed tests.
