Colombia starts vaccination against COVID-19

Colombia‘s vaccination campaign against COVID-19 began on Wednesday. The first person vaccinated in the country was Verónica Machado, head nurse of the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in Sincelejo, Sucre.

In this afternoon, the same process would be carried out in Montería, Córdoba, where the first to receive the dose will be the intensive care physician Clara Inés Patiño.

In a broadcast to the nation, Colombian president Iván Duque said that the goal is to immunize 70% of the country’s population in 2021.
