Deaths caused by the coronavirus drop 23% in one month in Brazil

The number of deaths caused by the COVID-19 fell 23% in September. Although the average death rate is still close to 700 per day, this was the second month of decline and September almost double the fall registered a month earlier, of -12%.

According to O Globo, statistics reinforce the tendency of the pandemic to decelerate in Brazil, with most of the reduction driven by populous states such as São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Bahia. Only two Brazilian states registered an increase in the comparison between August and September: Goiás and Amazonas.
