Deaths from Covid-19 in Mexico are highly concentrated among unschooled people

Most of the deaths caused by coronavirus in Mexico are concentrated in people with a low level of education and who work as housewives, public workers or vehicle drivers, detailed a study by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

According to Forbes Mexico, the study was based on statistics of Mexico’s Ministry of Health and the information system that feeds on death certificates issued in the country.

It indicated that 71% of the people who died from Covid-19 in Mexico completed primary school or had no education record at all.

Mexico’s death toll from the coronavirus pandemic is poised to overtake Italy’s and shoot above 35,000 on Sunday, with the Latin American nation set to post the world’s fourth highest deaths total, according to Reuters data.
