Due to COVID-19, Tpaga becomes the first fintech to create electronic deposits from cell phones in Colombia

Colombian mobile payments startup Tpaga will allow the government and state entities to give emergency aid for low-income families hit by coronavirus crisis through its platform, according to La República. With this, in alliance with Banco Coopcentral, Tpaga becomes the first fintech to create electronic deposits from cell phones in the country.

“In the event that users do not have a smartphone, they will be able to receive instructions for the withdrawal of their money via text messages at a kiosk in our network of allies, which total more than 9,000 points nationwide for withdrawals”, the fintech assured to La República.

On the other hand, for those who have smartphones, but do not have internet access, Tpaga and Coopcentral will offer an alternative through Claro Free Apps that does not consume data
