Zoom, TikTok, Hangouts Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Houseparty are currently the most downloaded apps in Colombia, as reported by the local newspaper La Republica.
Pushed by the social isolation in times of mandatory quarantine, these platforms are helping Colombians to stay in touch with coworkers, friends, and family, a behavior that has been observed globally. According to figures from App Annie, Houseparty climbed from 130,000 downloads in February in the US, to as much as 2 million recorded last week.
As for Colombians, an analysis by Rebold, a marketing and communication company, found out that their interaction on social networks increased by 53%, while the number of people who speak per day in such platforms rose as much as 49%. In addition, almost two million people engage in topics about coronavirus.
