Ri Happy, the largest Brazilian retailer specialized in toys sales, is being hit by the coronavirus pandemic crisis as all of its 284 physical stores, located mainly in shopping centers, are closed.
Although the firm has a series of digital channels in ecommerce, to survive the pandemic crisis, the retailer is now taking orders even by WhatsApp messages, says Exame. Delivery purchases through the app can be made in orders of BRL 99 ($19) or more.
In the week that preceded quarantines in São Paulo, toy retailing in Brazil had already registered a decline of 11% in revenues, according to the NPD Group.
