At a time when global initiatives are putting efforts to find an effective vaccine and while some of the countries most affected by the pandemic are starting to see a downward trend in cases, Latin America just surpassed more than 8 million coronavirus cases.
The daily average in the region fell to 67,173 in the last week until Wednesday, from a daily average of 80,512 in the previous seven days. Brazil continues to lead the contagion in the region, with more than 4.2 million cases.
