In less than a month, 346,878 formal jobs were lost in Mexico as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, reported the Secretary of Labor, Luisa María Alcalde.

According to Expansión, the official explained that these jobs were lost between March 13th and April 6th. The first case of Covid-19 in Mexico, and the second one in Latin America, was detected on February 29th.

Alcalde said that 198,000 were lost in March, and over 148,000 in the first week of April.
