On June 3rd, Mexico recorded its worst day since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Not only it exceed 100,000 infected, but more than 1,000 deaths were recorded in 24 hours, and almost 4,000 people were added to the list of confirmed cases.
According to data from the Federal Health Secretariat, on Wednesday, 1,092 deaths were registered to a total of 11,729. Besides, 3,912 people tested positive for Covid-19. 101,238 people have been infected nationwide, of whom 16,829 began to have symptoms in the last 14 days.
Mexico and Brazil have been giving contradictory signals in the fight against the pandemic. Both countries have been relaxing social distancing measures even as its curve of infections and deaths does not show signs of stabilizing.
