Mexico will keep its borders closed with US and Canada until September

North America (Mexico, The United States and Canada) decided on Friday to keep their borders closed until September 21, reports Valor Econômico. Since March, only essential trips are allowed between the three countries to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

On Twitter, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that there was an agreement with the United States to extend travel restrictions already in force for another month.

The Canadian Minister of Public Security, Bill Blair, also published on Twitter the extension of reciprocal restrictions with the U.S until September 21.

Mexico surpassed the 522,000 confirmed cases of the disease with 56,757 deaths. In Canada, the coronavirus has made 9,026 deaths and 122,000 infected. The U.S is the world leader in both deaths and cases: 170,000 deaths and 5,41 million cases.
