The Supreme Electoral Court of Bolivia announced that the national elections intended for May 3 will be postponed, according to RFI.
The statement comes after Bolivia’s interim president, Jeanine Áñez, announced that Bolivia would enter full quarantine starting on Sunday due to the coronavirus outbreak. Bolivia has 19 cases of the COVID-19.
“The Supreme Electoral Court reiterates its willingness to continue with a broad and plural dialogue with all political forces to set a new date for the voting day of the 2020 general elections”, announced the president of the Bolivian TSE, Salvador Romero.
