Delivery apps have grown tremendously since March, as people sought them to consume during the stay-at-home measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, and Rappi and Domicilios.com are the preferred apps in Colombia.
According to a survey by Mobimetrics, revealed by La Republica, 67% of respondents in Bogotá, the Colombian capital, use Rappi as their delivery app, followed by Domicilios.com, with 33%. Merqueo, Uber Eats, and iFood had a share of 18%, 14% and 6%, respectively. Respondents could pick more than one service.
Colombians use delivery apps mostly to order in restaurants (82%), followed by grocery stores (41%). Other categories mentioned were liquor (21%), medicines (18%) and clothing and footwear (8%).
Cash payments are still the preferred method for 83% of Colombians users of delivery apps, followed by debit cards (30%) e-wallets (27%) and credit cards (21%).
