The number of people who managed to recover after being infected with the new coronavirus exceeded the 400,000 mark this Easter weekend, according do WHO data.
This is good news in view of the increase in the number of infected (almost 2 million) and deaths (more than 100,000) worldwide. The United States, Italy and Spain concentrate the largest number of confirmed cases.
Researchers are racing against time to develop effective treatments and vaccines against the Covid-19. While Melinda Gates, of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, estimated that a vaccine will take up to 18 months to be ready for use, an Oxford University researcher told The Times that she believes the research she conducts at the institution will result in a vaccine before that, in the next September.
