Tourist flows to Mexico have recovered slowly in the summer, says El Economista

The recovery of international tourism in Mexico advanced slowly in the summer, reports El Economista. During July, Mexico received one million travelers, something that did not happen in the previous three months. Even though it still represents a 66.6% drop in its annual comparison. Mexico tourism generated $490 million in July, which represents a drop of 77.4% compared to the same month of 2019.

On Twitter, the Secretary of Tourism in Mexico, Miguel Torruco, said that “the great challenge in tourism is to raise per capita spending and foreign exchange income, today ranked on 37 and 17 position in the world, respectively”.
