According to World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) data, the potential economic loss of the travel industry around the world could reach $2.7 trillion of its GDP, higher than the $2.1 trillion projected a month ago.

This means that the number of potential job losses in the global travel and tourism sector due to the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 pandemic has increased by 30% and that up to 100.8 million people can lose their jobs worldwide (much more than the previous forecast of 75 million).
