Uruguay to buy over 2 million doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine

On Saturday, Uruguay‘s president Luis Lacalle Pou announced a purchase agreement for more than 2 million doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine against the novel coronavirus. The South American country has also agreed to buy 1.7 million doses of CoronaVac, Chinese Sinovac‘s vaccine, in addition to 1.5 million doses via WHO‘s alliance Covax.
