Without vaccines from India, Brazilian government requests all doses of Coronavac

Although the Brazilian government informed yesterday (14) that it would bring a batch of 2 million doses of the Astrazeneca vaccine from India, according to the Hindustan Times newspaper, India thinks that it is rash to commit to exporting doses of the vaccine at this time. Therefore, the plane that would leave Brazil for India on Thursday (14), has not yet taken off and there is no date set for the arrival of Indian doses in Brazil.

Because of this, as reported by Folha de S.Paulo newspaper, the Brazilian Ministry of Health requested the six million doses of the Coronavac vaccine produced by the Butantan Institute in São Paulo. In the note, the Ministry of Health requests the “immediate delivery” of the doses for distribution to all Brazilian states.
